Job Opening – Research Engineer in Preclinical Imaging

Context and main role
GIP CYROI is expanding its teams and is recruiting a Research Engineer in Preclinical Imaging within its Radiochemistry and Small Animal Imaging Unit (RIPA).
Based in Saint-Denis, at the heart of the Technopole de La Réunion, this position is part of a high-level scientific environment dedicated to biomedical research and biotechnology.
The successful candidate will work on projects of high scientific value, in close collaboration with the radiochemistry and biology teams and with the region's clinical partners. This position offers strong collaborative opportunities and directly contributes to innovative health research programmes.
Your responsibilities
A key role on a cutting-edge technology platform
- Designing and optimising multimodal preclinical imaging protocols (micro-PET/SPECT/CT, optical imaging)
- Performing image acquisition, reconstruction and quantitative analysis (biodistribution, pharmacokinetics, therapeutic monitoring)
- Developing new protocols related to the radiotracers produced on the platform
- Providing scientific and technical support to users (researchers, PhD students, partners)
- Contributing to the dissemination of results (publications, conferences, research projects)

This position has several important particularities:
- Regulated radiological environment: work in a controlled area requiring strict compliance with radiation protection rules travail en zone classée nécessitant le respect strict des règles de radioprotection
- Work in animal facilities: experiments on animal models within a strictly regulated ethical framework (SPS level) expérimentations sur modèles animaux dans un cadre éthique encadré (niveau SPS)
- Horaires flexibles : Flexible hours: some acquisitions may require evening or weekend work
- Interactions pluridisciplinaires fortes : Strong multidisciplinary interactions: close collaboration with internal teams (radiochemistry, biology) and external partners, including the University Hospital of Reunion Island (CHU)
- Responsabilité technique : Technical responsibility: involvement in equipment maintenance, quality monitoring and technology watch
Candidate profile
Education and experience
Required qualification: Required qualification: PhD in medical imaging, biophysics, neuroscience, pharmacology or related field
Desired experience: Au moins deux ans en imagerie préclinique
Technical skills
- Strong skills in image analysis and modelling
- Good command of dedicated tools and software
- Knowledge of radiobiology and radiopharmacy
- Proficient scientific English
