GIP CYROI
A catalyst for innovation in health and biotechnology in the Indian Ocean
Located in Saint-Denis, Réunion Island, at the heart of the Technopole technology park, the Public Interest Group Cyclotron Réunion Océan Indien (GIP CYROI) is a key player in biomedical research and technological innovation across the Indian Ocean region.
Founded in 2004 and operational since 2008, CYROI brings together the University of La Réunion, the La Réunion University Hospital, the CINOR, and the Regional Council of La Réunion. CYROI also benefits from the support of the French State.
Our missions
Producing radiotracers for medical imaging
CYROI is equipped with a cyclotron that produces radiotracers such as 18F-FDG, used in Positron Emission Tomography (PET) for cancer diagnosis.
Hosting research teams
We host teams working on topics such as emerging infectious diseases, metabolic diseases and the valorisation of terrestrial and marine biodiversity.
Supporting innovation and startups
Through our business incubator CB-TECH, we support innovative young companies by providing them with suitable infrastructure and an environment conducive to growth.
Providing shared scientific services
CYROI offers specialised services in microbiology, analytical chemistry, nuclear magnetic resonance and in vivo preclinical research, available to researchers and companies.
